Kharkiv School of Architecture is a private institution of higher education that prepares a new generation of Ukrainian architects and urban planners. The school’s establishment is both a reaction to the crisis of the architectural profession in Ukraine and a great desire for the emergence of a new community of professionals for a high level of discourse and qualitative changes in architecture and cities. During the forced closure, the team wasted no time: it reviewed new long-term goals, supported both the team and the students through ZOOM, and has absolutely no time to despair. “Immediately after the quarantine was announced, we went online for everyone’s safety. Now we all miss the atmosphere of the school and the community. But we had no choice but to adapt to the situation and start working at a distance. We support each other in ZOOM, so we don’t feel desperate. We have long-term goals and responsibilities to students and society. Now the most important thing for us is to preserve the quality of the educational process and provide students with all the planned knowledge and skills.”
