The Green Theater in Shevchenko Park is the first and only open-air amphitheater in Odesa. It is a multifunctional public space for recreation, development, and inspiration. “We offer culture. It probably sounds a little arrogant, but we really provide it. The Green Theater is the only full-fledged public space in the city. It is a set of social and environmental projects, including the first public garden in the town. There are large educational projects for children and adults. There are evenings of classical music, literature gatherings, lectures, and creative meetings with the most wonderful people. There is a full-fledged museum of childhood created by us. There are all the best festivals in the city.” The door did not have to be closed, as it had to be opened just in time of quarantine. “We closed our magic gates without any sad thoughts at the end of October last year. Instead, we had an annual, already familiar sadness attached to it, because the Green Theater is a seasonal project.” The team is considering many options for the future. All of them, but the saddest, which the final closure of the project. The theater is a complex mechanism. We are considering working without significant events, some change of emphasis, the emergence of new formats that are not risky and do not fall under the prohibitions. The location in the open air and the maximum flexibility of the space give us, in my opinion, some advantages when choosing event formats.
