“Ocean” is a shipyard in Mykolaiv. It was founded in 1951, and during its history, it has built more than 400 ships of various types and classes. The plant doors were closed with a sense of care and responsibility for the team that had just begun its revival. As we did not stop production and did not close the plant, our main concern was the team’s health and work spirit. After all, the most expensive equipment, shops, and docks are nothing without professional shipbuilders who love their factory. However, I am confident that when the danger of the spread of COVID-19 passes, “Ocean” will hire many shipbuilders who would like to work in their hometown. But quarantine is not the worst thing that prevents the shipyard from working full-time today. “In our case, quarantine exacerbates the predicament caused by the arrest. The arrest endangered the plant’s reputation and prevented us from concluding and executing foreign contracts. The attack on the plant was increased by quarantine, and as a result, the business and employees, the budget of both Mykolaiv and Ukraine, suffered severely. But despite everything, I do not consider the option of closing the business. We lifted “Ocean” from its knees, and we develop it, relying on our own forces and professionalism of the Mykolaiv shipbuilders. We will survive. Everything will be “Ocean”! I wish everyone good health and strength to overcome all the most difficult challenges of our time!”
