Ukraine Without Garbage is a non-governmental organization working since 2015 to provide Ukrainians with systemic opportunities to separate their household waste and thus reduce the negative impact on the environment. Our garbage sorting station works and pays for itself while we have visitors. Closing the station means stopping all processes and stopping the generation of cash receipts. Because we are a social project and offer a non-standard and not the most popular service, our monthly turnover provides almost no net profit. All resources without exception are divided into rent, salary, payment to suppliers, procurement, and maintenance. It means that we do not have an airbag to keep our exceptional team on the float. And even in particularly challenging times for any business, you can adapt and start something new. For example, Yevheniya and her team created the UWG-Courier service during the quarantine period and launched the free delivery of eco-goods from the own store. “There are fans among us who will never stop sorting garbage, and we help them save waste even during the quarantine period. We have complied with all security measures. The packages are stored at the station for at least two weeks to eliminate the virus’s risks. Then we sort it as usual. The entire team involved in the service is provided with everything necessary for safety. Thanks to the help of ELECTRO UA, which gave us NISSAN LEAF for free use, we now can make free delivery of eco-goods from the NO WASTE shop.
